Founded By Owners

Starting as holiday homeowners ourselves, we have a deeper appreciation of what it means to let out your property. This underpins everything we do; it’s at the core of our business.

Starting Just One Property

In the early 90s, our family purchased a dilapidated Methodist chapel in South East Cornwall. We fully restored all of the original features and converted the chapel room into a living area, giving the 200 year old home a uniqueness and charm.

For 25 years, we wondered why our chapel never turned into a successful holiday rental business. We went through countless letting agencies but only had a handful of bookings during the school holidays, many of which attracted nightmare guests. The property was making a loss each year, and we were considering selling. That was until Airbnb came along…

When we started with Airbnb, it was still relatively unknown, and we didn’t know what to expect. But within a few months of going live, we received more bookings than in the past 5 years! Plus, with a suite of safety and security tools, including the unique two-way review system for hosts and guests, we felt much safer doing it too.

It didn’t take long to realise the massive potential of Airbnb, not just for us but for all the other holiday homeowners out there who are dissatisfied with low earnings and bad guests. And so Guesthoo was born.

Our experience as owners forms the foundation of everything we do. Whether it’s taking extra care and diligence, offering complete calendar flexibility or committing to full transparency around fees, we strive to do things differently.
