When Kerry came to us, her lovely old Post Office conversion near Newquay wasn’t getting the attention it deserved. We’d had very similar experiences ourselves a few years prior, and we knew she could hugely benefit from what the likes of Airbnb, VRBO and more had to offer.
It’s a story all too common we hear these days. Traditional holiday letting agents are not performing well, for a variety of reasons. Often, they haven’t kept up with the times and are too inflexible, pricing is wrong, or they aren’t using all of the technology available. Other times, they have become too large, resulting in a property being lost in the system. This has become increasingly common as smaller brands are bought up by the likes of Travel Chapter and Sykes, but the brand name is kept to maintain an image. Behind the scenes, things are very different…
We knew we’d be able to provide a vastly improved experience. Listing on several of the world’s largest booking platforms, including Airbnb, VRBO and Booking.com, as well as our own direct bookings website, greatly increased booking revenue. However, this is not at the expense of a personal service. We’re a small team that really gets to know you and your property. And we’re based in the areas we operate. No call centres or chatbots, just real, local people.
Overall, we’ve been able to bring big performance improvements for the Old Post Office as well as provide a much more personal service. A win-win!
